Rosanne (hybrid)

 
This is a 2018 hybrid named after my mother. 

The plant is 2.5-3 ft tall.
The flowers are the same diameter as Mii Tai or Rupi's Ruby Star.

Red Pepper Wisdom -hybrid of Ottawa

 
"Open Soul Wisdom" was a dahlia we grew in 2012 from seed here in Ottawa. 

It is a nice sturdy plant, which doesn't need too much support. Stems are strong.

Petals are delicate and fade out to white as the flower ages.

The 2012 growing season here was exceptionally warm and dry and we collected many seeds. Seeds from one flower of this plant were collected and were used to start about 30 hybrids in 2013 (this years's garden) Two of them were worth keeping: Rupi's Ruby Star, and Claire's Sunshine.

The plant is about 4 ft high. 

Gloire de Paris

 This is a hybrid that we grew here in Ottawa in 2010 from a seed a friend gave us which came from the Pairs Dahlia show in France. We named the beauty "Gloire de Paris."
